Former Villa defender Stephen Warnock, in a recent Match of the Day appearance, highlighted the need for reinforcement. Despite Villa's impressive 11-game winning streak across all competitions, the last three games have seen a dip in form, with points dropped.
"It's a delicate situation," Warnock explained. "Both managers, especially Unai Emery, are known for their preference for smaller squads. But when you're competing in European competitions, relying on a small group of players is a risky strategy."
And here's where it gets controversial: Warnock believes the solution lies in the transfer market. "They need top-tier talent, not just squad fillers. The aim should be to secure a Champions League spot, and that requires a strong, diverse squad."
